We've all heard about the Minnesota Vikings' ill-fated excursion on Lake Minnetonka. In a story overshadowed by the Vikings' lack of, shall we say, "discretion", it's been reported in the Wall Street Journal (9/30/05) that the Green Bay Packers as a team registered the lowest average Wonderlic test score of all the 32 NFL teams (barely edging out the Arizona Cardinals). The Wonderlic Personnel Test is a standardized 12-minute 50-question problem-solving exam used by the league to evaluate players. Thousands of other businesses use it to measure applicants (see links below).
All of this begs the question:
